Sadira brought Tristan into the dark world of nightwalkers, making him in a twisted sense of family, Mira’s younger brother. During his century with Sadira, Tristan has learned to play the part of the actor; to fulfill a requested role, whether it be the dominant or the subordinate. However, the nightwalker has never really learned how to play the part of the predator, the aggressor.
After more than a century as a nightwalker, Tristan still understands very little of who he is, what it means to be a nightwalker, and what he is truly capable.
Sadira’s nickname for him is typically “mon amour” when she is trying to manipulate or soften him up. However, she will also call him “Triste,” playing off of his name and the French word for “sad.”
Human History:
Tristan was born and grew up in Switzerland. He was the only child of Swiss watchmaker in Geneva. His father was Swiss and his mother was French. Growing up, Tristan was also trained to be a watchmaker.
At the age of eighteen, he married Violetta. But during the second year of their marriage, his beloved wife died in childbirth along with their daughter.
During a trip to Paris in 1900, Tristan encountered Sadira. He had been wondering the streets one night and met her as she was walking down the stairs at Montmartre near Sacre Couer.
The one thing that Tristan has kept with him from his human years is a gold watch. His father made it and gave it to him when he married Violetta. On the inside, inscribed in Latin is “Find Strength in Love.”
